Medusa by ~Dianae is one of those pieces that very obviously speaks for itself...I could go on and on about how technically impressive it is...but I can't stop staring at this incredible work of art long enough to think of something intelligent. I suggest you do the same.

Description

Hi people, I'm new at DA, this is my first post :D
This is a self portrait as Medusa, I know I'm ugly like this, but it was fun to do ;)
I've tried to use a mirror, but staying more than 2 minutes with the mouth opened like that was too difficult, so I've taken a photo to continue.
HB, 2B and 5B pencils on A4 paper. It took me approximatively 15 hours to finish it. Hope you'll enjoy it

reference (used for the shading and the pose... it's not exactly the same face on the drawing) [link]

I want to thank everybody for the kind and constructive comments I've had :) Thanks a lot to twosilverstars who have featured this drawing :)

And sorry for my bad english.....

Hi. I like your artwork. You must read Lauren J. A. Bear's debut novel, Medusa's Sisters (https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=Ne6aEAAAQBAJ), and listen to the unabridged narration by Zura Johnson and Taylor Harvey (https://play.google.com/store/audiobooks/details?id=AQAAAEBC7VqtCM). The Greek mythology-inspired novel is told from Stheno's and Euryale's points of view, showing readers the events in the sisters' lives, from their difficult childhood, the cruelty Poseidon and Athena subject poor Medusa to, the three sisters' transformation into Gorgons, and the aftermath of Medusa's death. Trust me, you'll be so emotionally affected by the plot that you'll never read the Greek myths same way ever again.

You're welcome.🐍🐍🐍
