After some more work on it, I'm now calling it done
Photoshop CS3, 20 hours, No reference used.
This is my own rendition of a Greek myth. Pan has seduced Selene offering her white oxen ; Pan is the god of Nature, Selene is the goddess of Moon. They are meant to look quite opposite, it has been very interesting to paint
More about Pan and Selene here : [link]) (the link seems to be broken, please add a ")" at the end of the link ! )
Looks good to me, even though the compression, the details are unruly. Keep up the beautiful work.
-- Tired and lonely. Sitting and staring Weak and filthy. No longer caring Wasting to nothing. The rubble of you Hoping for something. Poison where love grew
Wow... this is so breathtaking! And you used no references?? You are phenomenal! This is definitely getting a +fav and I hope this will be featured on the front page of DA. Your hard work has certainly earned it. And, thank you for posting how many hours it took. I'm beginning to get more into digital painting and like knowing how long it takes other artists to complete their pieces. I hope one day I can get to your caliber of painting.
C'est terriblement beau...
En plus si t'as fait ça sans photo de référence, chapeau bas...
Je me demande ce que ça donne sans la compression de l'image. Les détails dans les cheveux de Pan sont là...
Holy crow, this is just... well, it kicks the ass of that WIP, for sure.
There's so much detail in it that no matter how many times I look at it, I always notice something new, like that little hint of green on Selene's lower lip, or the excruciating care that went into putting the sparse hairs on Pan's arm and hand.
The only thing that bugs me a little is that I wish Selene's hair wasn't so thin. It's just too light for me, and doesn't have enough weight.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

98% of Deviants don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." If you're one of the 2% that wants to punch 'em, put this in your sig.
